The Electric SUV Car M5 EV adopts an Electric Car style closed front face, with many optimizations for the vehicle's wind resistance. In terms of color, in addition to the four conventional color combinations of azure blue, ceramic white, gilded black, and truffle green, two exclusive colors of dawn powder and warm nebula are added, making personalization more distinctive. Using the closed front face commonly seen in Electric Car, the bumper and cabin cover have a significant downward pressure feeling, giving them a sporty look. The lower part of the car nose is concave in shape, which is conducive to guiding the front airflow to the ventilation channels on both sides for exhaust. The lower grille is decorated with chrome plated strips, and the internal use of active grille also has a significant impact on reducing wind resistance.
The split low and high beam split lamp sets have all added lenses, making them very attractive. The identification of the top curved daytime running light is good, and there is a grid inside the lower ventilation duct. The side looks very car running, with a low body height and short rear overhang, making it very compact. The lowered roof and raised waistline create a dynamic feel, with a large tilt of the rear window and a relatively large retraction of the shoulder. In addition to the front part of the vehicle, measures to reduce wind resistance also include details such as low wind resistance wheel rims, hidden pop-up door handles, and wraparound tail fins. The wind resistance coefficient has achieved 0.266Cd, which is quite outstanding.
The vehicle body dimensions are 4785/1930/1620 mm in length, width, and height, and the wheelbase is 2880 mm. Compared to the Mdoel Y, the size is very close, but the Electric SUV Car M5 EV has a more compact visual feel, with a shorter main rear overhang. The exterior rearview mirror with dual color stitching integrates LED side turn lights and side mounted cameras, but the cameras are relatively abrupt and not highly integrated. The exterior rearview mirror supports electric adjustment, folding, memory, heating, automatic reverse rollover, and automatic lock folding. NFC functionality has also been added, enabling sensorless unlocking through Huawei phones and watches.
Using a 19 inch low wind resistance wheel rim, fill the gap with a bright black plastic cover plate, but leave a small amount of gap for heat dissipation. The tire specification is 255/50 R19, and the tire width is sufficient. It matches the Pirelli P ZERO series products, providing excellent traction. The rear of the car appears wide and low, and the surrounding light belt is very beautiful. When unlocking and unlocking, it will be lit in a flowing water manner, with a stronger sense of ceremony. A logo that can be lit is added in the center. The bumper part has a rounded design without fancy decorations.
In terms of power, this car is loaded with a three-in-one DriveONE permanent magnet synchronous motor provided by Huawei, with a rear layout, a maximum power of 200kW, and a maximum torque of 360Nm. Gently tap the accelerator, the motor responds quickly, and the torque is sufficient. Power immediately emerges. Driving with oil on the floor, it's easy to speed up to 100km/h, and the stamina is quite good. We can run as fast as 150km/h, and it feels like there's still room for improvement. The performance of the motor is good, there is no howling sound, and the continuous acceleration ability at high speeds is also good. It can drive a 2.2 ton car body to a maximum speed of 200 km/h, which is considered excellent. In terms of endurance, it uses an 80kWh lithium iron phosphate battery produced by Ningde Times, with a CLTC endurance of 620km. It looks good, but compared to Model Y, the difference can be seen. The latter uses a 60kwh battery to achieve a 545km range, and users generally feel that Tesla's range is more realistic and SOC accuracy is more reliable. The theoretical power consumption of this car is 15.1kWh/100km. Our actual measured power consumption is around 16.5kWh/100km, which is higher than the theoretical value. The actual mileage estimated is around 480km. In addition, this car has put a lot of effort into energy management software, which can assess its range before and during the journey, remind users to charge and provide charging locations. It also has a super power saving mode, which shuts down some power consuming devices and limits the power of the motor when the integrated endurance SOC is below 15%, achieving longer endurance.
The M5 EV is avant-garde but not radical, leading the trend of the times but not at the forefront. It is very suitable for users transitioning from traditional oil vehicles.
