CARS.COM — You’d be forgiven for thinking the redesigned 2017 Mini Countryman isn’t that different from the outgoing model. The proportions and lines are remarkably similar. The new model, however, is longer by nearly 8 inches, wider by 1 inch and the wheelbase is increased by almost 3 inches. Mini also increased the ground clearance to 6.5 inches from 5.9 inches. Sporty exterior styling cues and special 18-inch wheels tip off bystanders that this is the Cooper S version.

Inside, the Cooper S gets sport seats to distinguish it from its more pedestrian brethren. An 8.8-inch touchscreen multimedia system with navigation is available, and bright colors and toggle switches abound inside. A panoramic sunroof is standard. The Mini Connected infotainment system is also capable of syncing appointments with an iPhone or Apple Watch, and the navigation system is able to use current traffic data to tell you the optimal departure time for your next meeting.
