Vehicles Affected: Land Rover is recalling about 5,238 model-year 2014 Range Rover SUVs manufactured between May 7 and Oct. 10, 2013.
The Problem: The turn-signal indicator may not flash or click at a double rate to notify the driver of a front turn-signal malfunction. Without a warning that a signal is malfunctioning, the driver could continue to use the vehicle unaware that other drivers are not being notified of a turn, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Land Rover will notify owners on or before May 27, and dealers will update the vehicle software for free.
What Owners Should Do: Owners can call Land Rover at 800-637-6837, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or go to www.safercar.gov for more info.
