It’s never fun to get a recall notice in the mail, but it is better to know about them as soon as humanly possible. Here are the latest recalls we have to report.
The big news this week is that owners of most 2003 – 2006 Volvo XC90 SUVs will have to take their car to the dealership for two repairs. One is significant, involving steering components that may make the vehicle hard to steer. This will impact about 109,000 XC90s. The other fix, involving wiper arms that may not function properly in severe weather, affects roughly 122,000 XC90s from the same model years.
Volvo is also recalling about 16,000 S40s and V50s equipped with the T5 turbo engine from the 2004 – 2006 model years for a fuel line repair.
In other recall news:
Land Rover: 2005 – 2006 LR3 and Range Rover Sports need to have a control unit reprogrammed.
2006 Range Rover Sports with 19-inch wheels need to be repaired because they may experience trouble during hard left turns.
GM: 405,000 small pickups need brake-light switches replaced. Chevrolet Colorados and GMC Canyons from the 2004 – 2006 model years, along with 2006 Isuzu i-280s and i-350s, are affected. 2005 Cadillac SRXs and STSs are being recalled to fix faulty welds in the rear suspension. 2001 Saab 9-3s are being recalled because of potential leaks from the fuel pump.
VW: 1998 – 2002 New Beetles and 1999 – 2002 Jettas — about 362,000 cars, altogether — are being recalled to fix a brake-light switch that was improperly repaired after two previous recalls.
DaimlerChrysler: 2006 Dodge Chargers and Magnums, and Chrysler 300s, all with the 2.7-liter engine, need to have their brake tubes replaced. 2006 Jeep Wranglers with six-speed manual transmissions are being recalled for clutch repairs.
