The Porsche 911 is dead … long live the Porsche 911! The outgoing 991 generation will be replaced by the updated 992 that debuted at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. So now is a good time to remind you how much we enjoyed the 991 version, particularly the Turbo S that expert reviewer Aaron Bragman got seat time in during the fall. Bragman’s review of the 2018 Porsche 911 Turbo S parks itself at No. 4 on our list of the past week’s top five most popular reviews.

“We’re likely to see a new Porsche 911 in the next year or two, which will hopefully address the lacking safety systems in this one,” Bragman predicted. “As for the rest of the car, there are few vehicles on the planet that can match the 911 Turbo S’ combination of sheer ability, comfortable surroundings and earned pedigree. There’s a reason any 911 is an aspirational vehicle for so many auto enthusiasts — it delivers on all fronts better than just about any other sports car out there.”

Even with a new 911 coming, don’t expect there to be much in the way of “deals” on the outgoing models. But we can dream.

As for popular video content this week, our first impressions of the new 2020 Jeep Gladiator mid-size pickup truck joins the most-watched list, checking in at No. 5. While the Gladiator is more than just a Wrangler with a bed, it still shares its most unique features with its SUV sibling: removable doors and roof, and a fold-down windshield.
