CARS.COM — Toyota says full production at its Japan plants will resume by May 14, a month after earthquakes in the country hampered production at its largest automaker. After a scheduled holiday from April 29 to May 5, production at all of Toyota’s impacted assembly plants will resume between May 6 and May 14, the automaker said in an April 27 statement.

The closures, which began April 18, affected 19 Japan-built models sold in the U.S. under the Toyota, Lexus and Scion brands.
Citing earthquake-related supply issues, GM said separately that it would partially suspend production at four plants in the U.S. and Canada from April 25 to May 8. Asked if the plants were still on schedule to restart May 9, a GM spokeswoman did not respond.
