Chinese-owned Scandinavian electric brand Polestar is doing things in order. It plans to debut its fourth production vehicle, the Polestar 4, next week at the Shanghai auto show. While details are slim, the brand released a teaser image and a few tidbits about the model ahead of its reveal.

Polestar says the all-electric 4’s styling will resemble a coupe but have the space of an SUV. Also, the new model borrows “design cues and sustainability enhancements” from Polestar’s previous concept vehicles, the brand said in a statement. While no powertrain details are yet available, Polestar promises the 4 will be the brand’s fastest production car yet.
The new model will be the second SUV in the lineup and follows the brand’s other three cars: the Polestar 1 coupe, Polestar 2 compact hatchback (think Tesla Model 3 fighter) and Polestar 3 SUV.
What’s next for the brand? Well, the 5, of course. Expected in 2024, Polestar announced its 5 EV will be a high-performance four-door GT car that will be an evolution of the brand’s Precept concept from 2020. After that, expect the 6 roadster, inspired by the O2 concept.
