Some things to note: some, but not all, of these cars are manual-transmission only. In most instances, however, buyers will have to choose the manual instead of an available automatic, and not all trim levels of the vehicles below will even offer a stick shift. It’s also worth noting that most of these vehicles are not family-friendly, instead skewing mostly toward performance and fun. Those that aren’t enthusiast vehicles are predominantly affordable vehicles.
Finally, two of the vehicles on this list, the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, are being discontinued, and it seems unlikely that their probable battery-electric replacements will offer stick shifts. Then again, Toyota is reportedly working on an electric vehicle with a true manual transmission — stalls and all, for some reason — so it’s not entirely clear what the future holds. Subaru is discontinuing manual transmissions for the 2024 Crosstrek and Impreza, as well.
